Vastu Shastra, also known as Vastu Veda, is an ancient science of construction and architecture and is related to the building arts. It is a traditional Hindu system of design based on directional alignment and has been applied in Hindu architecture, especially for temples, from time immemorial.
The one thing that Vastu Shastra is not, is FENG SHUI. It is definitely not an Indian form of Feng Shui. In fact, there is absolutely no similarity between Vastu and Feng Shui.
Fundamentals of Vastu Shastra
Vastu firmly believes that the world comprises of five basic elements, known as Pancha Maha Bhoota, and that out of the sevral planets in our Solar System, only ours has life. This is only because of the presenc eof these five elements.
They are:
- Earth, or Bhumi
- Water, or Jala
- Air, or Vayu
- Fire, or Agni
- Space, or Akasha
Vastu subscribes to the fact that there is an invisible and constant relation between all the five elements. Thus, a person can improve their conditions by properly designing their buildings by understanding the effect of these five natural forces.
Vaastu sastra combines all the five elements of nature, taking advantage of the benefits they bestow, balances them with the person and the material, to create a congenial living and working environment. This not only paves the way for good health, wealth, prosperity and happiness, but also ensures spiritual well-being.
Vastu Consultants
Vastu experts and consultants can ideally scan energies and aura and come up with the right Vastu plan for homes and offices.
They help in enhancing the well being of the occupants and can instruct and advice how to make best use of the effects of the five elements to energize the inhabitants.
Lesser known facts about Vastu
